The acceptance of this letter marks a significant step in advancing the Group\u2019s climate action through the pursuit of SBTi certification. As part of this commitment, HOYA aims to establish near-term GHG reduction targets aligned with the 1.5\u00b0C pathway under the Paris Agreement<sup>*2<\/sup>, in line with SBTi criteria, within two years.<\/p>\n<p>HOYA Group joined RE100 in 2023 and is working toward sourcing 60% of its electricity from renewable energy by FY2030 and 100% by FY2040. Using FY2021 as the baseline, the Group has set goals to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 60% by FY2030 and by 100% by FY2040. It provides companies with a framework to set greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets that are aligned with the latest climate science.
